History of the TU Dublin

The TU Dublin was established on January 1, 2019. It emerged from the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). The DIT was founded as an autonomous institution under the DIT Act in 1992, but its origins go back to 1887 and the establishment of technical education in Ireland. The university continues to build on its long and proud tradition of providing education to the highest levels.
